Companion cropping

Anyone know someone who’s been doing companion cropping for a number of years?.
For a number of reasons cover cropping is not the best fit for our business where as effective companion cropping seems an attractive option, timing, labour and soil health wise.
my aim is to drill our crops early, get them winter proud, then graze through winter, and spray out the companion in the spring...or not depending on wether it will grow without seeding or affecting harvest. Any help is much appreciated

Andy Howard is doing it in Kent having done a Nuffield scholarship on the subject. Not sure if he still floats about on here.
