Compressor recommendations?

Old workshop compressor is done, won't even make enough pressure to switch itself off, cant really complain, ts an old thing now so time for a new one.

So any recommendations of brand or supplier? Any to avoid?
The one we have is 150lit single phase, guess the same again would do. Milwaukee has taken over from air tools so no massive demands for air really.
But it's nice to have a decent volume of air stored so it's not kicking in all the time.

We have a 3ph Sealey. Even if you're using your cordless tools, I'd still get a big mutha of a compressor. You can't blow machines off with a 5 amp cordless battery, and air goive you the option of tools like air hammers and needle scalers

3hp can feel small enough while holding the trigger when inflating large tyres.

We have cheap compressors and the seem fair value. Some parts like the outlet pressure regulators that don't last, but I don't need them. I have a small reservoir mobile compressor, so I can take air round the yard as needed. Only issue with a relatively small reservoir though seems to be more moisture left in the compressed air.

If buying cheap then belt driven compressors are noticeably quieter than direct driven.

If yours is a belt drive, I have a couple of new compressors that you could fit one of to your old machine. We used to get through piston compressors on a regular basis as we have quite a demand for air around the farm, we have moved to scroll compressors now, not cheap to buy but use 1/3 less electric and are quiet and reliable if you change oil and filters when required.
PM me if interested.

Aye, did look at it, think its just worn out, the rings and bore would be well used be now, and it was a cheap brand when it was bought.
New compressor pump would be an option, not that dear either, £100 -150 would get you a pump.
The old thing would be near 30 year old and God knows what the tank would be like, could be a bit rusty on the inside.
Might get a new one for main farm and see if I can rig up the old one for outfarm where I stay, be handy for the garage here.

Nfu keep asking me re. The vessel test on my compressor cylinder. A pressure vessel is a bomb eh .
I think that's why there are so many ' cheap ' compressors on market place, cheaper to buy new.
I have a ' bargain ' comp . Its a paper weight 😫.
Buy new i think 🤔

What you have will be far better quality than a new one I’m sure.
