When people from across in GB talk about an agent, is that an estate agent or solicitor?

They were a foreign concept when we came over. Probably best thought of as a cross between the 2. Degree educated in the right places, never seen without smart country attire. Active in country sports. Have a vested interest in designing/portraying complex subsidy/environment schemes.

Considered a valuable partner to the 'less hands on' type of mainland farmer and have all the ideal personal characteristics to deal with utility companies, developers etc on one's behalf.
