concrete breaker

20 minutes ,then put it down or give somebody else a go
Back when I was young, arrogant stupid know it all (wife says nothing has changed apart from the age) Dad hired a Bosch breaker as we had a concrete roadway to break up. I immediately took the attitude that operating the breaker was my job and Dad could have the menial job of picking up the concrete and barrowing it to the skip. Dad didn't seem at all concerned at his demotion to labourer.
At the end of the day when my hands were still vibrating even when the breaker was off and my arms felt like I had been stretched on a medieval rack, it was a lesson well learnt, Dad's 40 odd years of experience were worth having.

Are you referring to the piston etc inside the casing (strip down needed), not the tool holder mechanism, as the two are different? If you are then you may need the motor windings checked out if the transformer etc all check out as being correct and working as they are intended?

I have stripped it down and checked the piston etc.
The motor windings appear to be in a healthy state but I have not checked that yet ( mainly because I donā€™t know how to )

You would be a brave man putting 240 volts into that unless you are absolutely certain it was intended. Their appears no earth!
make sure you have a trip on the plug!
The plug is not well wired so obviously has been replaced at some time but it does have an earth which is hidden in photo. ( but I donā€™t know if it is connected inside plug. Will check that)
Because the plug is not well wired it set me wondering that someone might have found it at back of shed without a plug and assumed it was 110 v

Our refrigeration engineer reckoned that as it didnā€™t cost anything and is not working now anyway. A trial on 240 v wonā€™t harm.
will check transformer rating and electrical safety and then maybe have a play.

Modern earth leakage trips have saved many a life! Wear rubber boots too ;)
years ago I chucked an old bench drill out as it started tripping the trips. A few years later checking on an old farm worker who had a tidy little workshop at the back of his house, I saw the old drill. I ribbed him about it, and he confessed he had taken off off the scrap heap. It does give me a bit of a tingle when I use it!
