Concrete water troughs

Picked this Forden one up from Morgan’s Ruthin today.

Going to fit it tomorrow.

They are good tanks.

8ft long,about 2ft wide at the top.

Going in one 11 acre field with 12 two year old heifers.

Should be big enough.

Morgans dont take the trough support stands and notice they are missing. Did they offer you a pair??

To be fair I didn’t really want the support stands as it is being placed on the floor so it is easier for sheep to use.

They did say they could sell me a pair however I have a spare set here from another trough.

The main selling point to me is the protection for the pipe within the casing.

Had an existing black pipe to join to so extended the pipe.

Reused a large lump of concrete slab as a base.

What was wrong with the old bath? Plenty of them servicing small field round here for decades. Often with just a wooden bung in the plug hole.

What weight are in the 300, 400 and 500 gallon water troughs. I am needing a couple for cows and might take a trip to Penrith to collect a couple. @Shane_watertrough

300 weight 1.6 ton
400 weight 1.8 ton
500 weight 2.3 - 2.6 ton depending on the mold used to cast!
