I’m the opposite here with numbers this year as I had an ag student this summer and when we were sorting ewes out she was on the clicker counting. When I sorted them into tupping groups I had 75 more than I should have so feck knows what she was doing to be so far out.I got another 800 to tail over the weekend, hope I don’t find to many in there or I will be a bit short on ewes. I did bring over an extra 30 replacement more than I thought I needed but was hopping to cull out any plainer ewes that haven’t improved.
I think the blackies and swales are more susceptible to opa than mules for whatever reason. There’s probably no medical calculations to back what I’m saying but I definitely think that is the case. What you’ve got to consider is how many mules are bred of these sheep that are infected with it why haven’t the mules appeared with it in epidemic levels. Most of the sheep I hear about are blackies and some swales
She'll have been keeping herself busy writing lists of what you need to do while she's laid up.Not me. YM did it falling off the quad bike.
