They bought another 300 a few weeks ago.f**king hell that will be a shock to him. A lot of borrowed money to get to that number these days.
Any ideas as to why that would be ? Are mules more prone , or the Suffolk mules ?Bloody sheep. Good thing here is my predecessor was very good at record keeping and had the exact same problems every year. We can grow grass but have massive problems with both mag and mastitis.
I thought he said 1000 a few weeks ago. He's lambing 2000 this year as far as I know.
Grass and cold wind I think for both, ewes milk well with big udders and strong lambs then the east wind catch’s the bag. Mag just to go a grass and ewe’s working hard with lambs. All have been problems for 30 years (probably more)Any ideas as to why that would be ? Are mules more prone , or the Suffolk mules ?
Major pita when the sods continue to find ways to die !
What’s he doing? Leading them in from outside?Just been watching a bit of cammy and seems a right carry on for him this year. I know indoor lambing seems a work creation but I couldn’t be doing with that.
Doesn’t matter what end of the country we’re in , it’s tricky all over !Grass and cold wind I think for both, ewes milk well with big udders and strong lambs then the east wind catch’s the bag. Years ago when I lambed on the fell I used to tie sheep to a resh bush just tied it tight then bent it over and tied tight again they didn’t get awayA few pens in the field would seem like a good idea to me.
I think it was a thousand last year and up to two thousand this year and that's why it's all out door lambing. That's what I picked up from one of the recent videos.I thought he said 1000 a few weeks ago.
Couple of years ago when it was hit at lambing we got a lot if watery mouth outside.Doesn’t matter what end of the country we’re in , it’s tricky all over !
I was very chuffed with a gimmer last night that lambed twins out the weather behind a wall , so I left her well alone . Checked the lambs an hour ago , and 1 of them has ruddy watery mouth !
Thought that was as indoor thing !
The first year I remember getting watery mouth it was cold shytty weather similar to this and it was in some clarty fieldsDoesn’t matter what end of the country we’re in , it’s tricky all over !

What about the sheep? The first year I remember getting watery mouth it was cold shytty weather similar to this and it was in some clarty fields
Oh well , that sounds like my fields at the moment anyway !The first year I remember getting watery mouth it was cold shytty weather similar to this and it was in some clarty fields
AP ?M8 old man went to shoot a Hogg with bolt gun once . Put it against hoggs head and pushed down and pulled trigger …
had gun wrong way around and put bolt straight through his hand!
Took a few years before he could have a laugh about it right enough
He's a bit of a mental health therapist around these parts at the moment. Folk are coming in at night after a bad day at the lambing. They then watch Cammy and realise that it's possible for someone to have had a worse day than themselves.Watching it now. Im not enjoying these videos as much as I normally do. He just cant catch a break
Obviously you know Cammy well , I just hope he doesn’t feel obliged to be positive and tell everyone to keep their spirits up , he is a massive persona in agriculture now but he hopefully doesn’t feel responsible for the well being of others as that can end up becoming a very dangerous placeHe's a bit of a mental health therapist around these parts at the moment. That was a long time ago I can remember the vet saying once you have it you will always have itOh well , that sounds like my fields at the moment anyway !
Saying that it’s been a warm windy day , and some of the mud looks less sloppy tonight!

Not lots but do put some on.Do you, or your arable guys, use lots of N to grow that grass?
I’ve never really had a problem with Mag, except for years ago, on grass that was pushed on with (excessive?) N.
