Just standing in cow shed on a horrible night thinking 1 how glad I built what I did in 2018/19 and 2 how I wish I build bigger 🙈🤣 looked up the quote for the extension that was done then, 80ft wide 60 long. 4800 ft2 for 25k galvanised and delivered. £5.20/sq foot. Putting it up was on top of that. Any ideas what that would be today?!

We did a 80ft long by 60ft wide ordered May 2023. 24ft to eaves, stations strong enough t take grain to 3+m, galvanised, fibre cement roof, galv cold rolled purlins, gable ends sheeted to eaves height off hangers, including erection....

Supply only £28,000. £5.83/ft2
Supply and erected price £36,000. £7.50/ft2

That was cheapest quote though, and they used Briarwood's Landini roof sheets. Next cheapest quote using Eternit sheets was £48,000. 3rd quote was £58,000

Very eased with the shed we got. Only thing is the hangers for the gable are straight down hangers with no diagonals back to next set of rafters (which it probably should have. I didn't clock that omission when I ordered).

TBF we probably got a cheap price, and £48,000 would have been more of an average quote price.

Obvs that was 60ft wide, whereas you were 80ft wide.

We had same size 80ft long, 60ft wide building in 2007 and it was half the price of the 2023 price. Lesson learnt about inflation.

We are just finishing off another Screb shed it was a different size to yours but you can play on their website and get an instant quote.

80 ft x 60 ft x 18ft eaves galvanised frame with fibre cement roof would be 28k euros here before negotiation (about 24k pounds).

You can play around and add cladding etc and get an idea of prices while you try and put off looking at cows in the rain.

I'd price a few up and see how you get on. Prices have come back a good bit. Won't come back forever though. Some of the kits some companies offer are back to nearly where they were years ago. You might be surprised.
Not long ago it would be £10/ft2 or 115/m2 basic starting point.

Priced a 60m x 30m x 8m shed not long ago. Fibre roof, Clad down to 3m. Would have been shuttering the walls myself. Fully galvanised. One end open for a 12m gale breaker door. £214k delivered price. Won't be doing that this year anyway.
What are solar panel companies paying to rent roof space in the UK?

In France if you can justify a shed that big and get planning permission the rent for solar panels would cover the cost or if you prefer solar panel companies will build it for you for free.

They rent the land for 20 years and build the shed which you get to use then after 20 years its yours.
You have to pay for everything below ground level (footings and cable laying) but that's a tiny fraction of the cost of a 1800 square metre shed.

Is that with EDF money that the uk gov has given them?

EDF are one of them yes. They rent any roof space they can get and are covering outdoor car parks for free just to get permission for installing panels.
Over here the company's want you to use the power yourself that I have found. Not so good for small users
