I was really rough over lambing, so much so I didn't go out for a few days. High fever and coughing. Took multiple COVID tests all negative. Was sent for bloods and chest x-ray and all come back fine.It takes a long time to deplete the body of it's B12 stores- the daily 'use up' is on the order of 1 microgram a day, with the liver storing entire milligrams of it.
I don't. Perhaps need to speak to Dr again why this is happening so I can avoid being this bad in future.Do you eat any liver? Liver and onions twice a week wouldnt do you any harm

I don't really drink much. Sort of 1 of the little cans of cider in the summer once twice a week and maybe a small whiskey once or twice a week in the winter. Sometimes can go months with nothing. Totally stopped now thoughThe most obvious place I would see someone with low vitamin B12 is in alcoholics who have been consuming a lot of alcohol over a long time period. Alcohol irritates the stomach/gut and so it just becomes angry and stops handling a lot of nutrients properly, vitamin B12 is just one such example.
That's getting to be a long old time of it. The physical act of coughing is enervating, and you've had a long wrestling match with the cause of the coughing. Was your doc helpful?Still Ill, kids bought home another cold. Still not lost the cough and now full of snot too. Beed constant Ill now over 2 months. Wife's not been great either. Kids 6 and 15 seems to bounce back after a day or so.
Perhaps our issue is not laying up and resting?
Aye, the cough has put feet beside the wood stove here for a couple of afternoons this winterYou won't find any athlete or weight lifter that attends the gym or trains when they know they are ill, not if they have any sense.
It is best to stay indoors in the warm and do the bare minimum. If you need to sleep, then sleep.
One thing we did in 2020 was draw up a set of instructions for most tasks in case anyone is taken ill. What seems silly things to write down about a quirk of one of the dogs, or to just check such and such gets trough room among the sheep or bullocks was updated only recently.Aye, the cough has put feet beside the wood stove here for a couple of afternoons this winter
Had a plethora of NHS funded tests and pills, but thankfully no nasties have (so far) been found to explain the lethargy, choked bronchials, and constant reminders of those days when post rugby aches prevailed
Mind, the docs look sideways when you tell them the prescribed rest occurs after the livestock is fed, the sheep are dosed, the pup gets a run and the water troughs are thawed
The answer to their next question is always
"Naw, there's nobody else that kens what's to be done"
Aye, there's a list in the tractor that the farm assurance insist is writtenOne thing we did in 2020 was draw up a set of instructions for most tasks in case anyone is taken ill. Hope you're feeling OK.
All the best.Off to the Dr again later. Just fked tbh. Never been so Ill this later 12months.
Basically whooping cough. 2 more days of these stronger antibiotics and getting better. Dr said as I left it so long blood tests wouldn't show whooping cough. These is a separate test for that I had.Whooping cough mapped as Wales becomes epicentre for infections
People are being urged to get vaccinated with doctors warning the infection - also known as the 100-day cough - can be serious and even life threatening for young babieswww.walesonline.co.uk
Did you have vaccinations as a child too?Basically whooping cough. 2 more days of these stronger antibiotics and getting better. Dr said as I left it so long blood tests wouldn't show whooping cough. These is a separate test for that I had.
