I can’t see which market they would be aiming at with that

Versatile is such a well known / iconic brand in North America & Australia, it wouldn’t make sense to change the colours & branding to that of a relatively minor player ? Surely ?

is Kubota such a big name there ?
here they are pretty much overgrown lawnmowers & SSV buggies . . .

I am biased, as I spent many hours on artic Versatiles in my formative youth . . .

No, but they have a good name in grounds care and diggers. They’re pushing hard in the sub 200hp range, fairly obvious they want to become a big name. Not many Versatiles in the UK so probably makes sense. No idea who our Versa dealer is, but know the Kubota.

Given what I have heard about kubota and fuel economy, is the space behind the cab for the extra fuel tank?

Guess it would be an orange powertrain in it?

I'm not at all sure that Kubota has really got its head around the tractor market outside of compacts.

Coming from a world of smaller machines where they have been very successful the step up into 'proper' tractors seems the be posing some difficulty for them. Smaller machines are usually simple affairs and certainly in the mini digger arena that is a huge bonus where they tend to go to hire companies, larger tractors, as a general rule, will have one one or two drivers who know the machine and look to optimise its performance rather than just jump in and drive it for an hour or two. The company can also get away with a huge mark up on parts when those parts are small and relatively inexpensive, but big tractors have big parts and there isn't the room for their usual margin. They are also new kids on the block and the territory is already heavily fought over by companies who have experience of the tractor market going back to when it was created.

Kubota can try and buy into the market with the purchase of established brands but interference from a management structure brought up in the world of compacts is bound to have a deleterious effect.

I went on a tour of the kubota factory in France.
They have massive cash reserves, they are very keen to extend the tractor ranges they have. They are incredibly driven, and also treat the workforce very well which produces an excellent work atmosphere, which in turn leads to better built products.
They are going places, fast.

Maybe, but did they have an established business and products in the area they tried to break into?
Kubota have a proven track record in machinery, which has an excellent reputation for reliability, they are a good way there on the journey before they even start.

Weren't they all branded as New Holland before Case joined up and the versatile factory had to be disposed of?

Wont be getting one here its too big to go down the feed passage!!!
On another note a couple of years ago there seemed to be a big push on kubotas around here but this year at the local farming events there wasnt a kubota in sight!!!
These bigger models are no cheaper than the established brands either so why jump ship
