Can anyone enlighten me as to the potential value and parts availability for these?

I've seen the immaculate ones making silly money lately but been offered one which is mechanically ok but with a rotten cab beyond saving but has mudguards to convert to open station and cosmetically scabby. Can't find much advertised to gauge it on and it's the wrong colour for my expertise!

Anything particular to be aware of on these?

All depends on how it’s been looked after and treated really….

it may run ok now, but there could be a host of problems lurking around the corner if it’s had a hard life.. most of these were worked hard as they were a premium machine back in the day.

On the plus side though, it’s mostly based on Ford parts, which are easy to source, and there are a few county specialists around to get the more unique parts from..

all depends on what you want it for really…
If you want to do it up and make a quick buck, it’d be a bit of a gamble, but if you just want it as a hobby/ do’er upper/ toy, then it’d be quite a thing….

Join one of the many county groups on Facebook, everything can be rebuilt, for either time or money. Some unavailable parts are being reproduced, but at a cost. Cabs can be rebuilt it mostly only sheet steel. You should see some of the basket cases that have been done up.
