Saw a feed management system on a diet feeder yesterday, everything is cloud based, it was a really neat system. it was also capable of linking to milk meters and herd management software and has its on built in diet optimisation program using the feed data and milk yield to refine.
all clever stuff !!!
Anyone else seen/using it ?

To what benefit though? Data is only as good as the person using it. And there is only so much data and decisions that can be processed in a day.
That said if you think you’ve got everything as perfect as you can without it then it maybe the final piece in the jigsaw.
From what I’ve seen of the farms I visited in Europe were so far behind in terms of feeding and clamp management the money could be far better spent.
@Serup may know more as he’s from Denmark.

CowConnect is a danish company.
It's a small establishment. They have a fair markedshare on new mixers today.
It is a clever system, that can give much information, if the correct data about the herd and milkdata is available.

I don't use it myself, but have seen demoes of it.
If it has access to the nessecary data, which it has in Denmark, as we have a nationwide database where all data about cows are entered daily, it can make a report daily with feed conversion rates, margins, efficiency and keep track of how much feed is used and in stock. Thats more than half of it's value if you ask me, so if i doesn't have this data, you are paying a fair amount for nothing.

There are two reasons to why i don't use it:

It is expensive, and with a monthly fee, it never ends.

And it is based on a single engineers ability to keep make it work. He did have a similar company previously where he sold touchscreen computers where you can enter and see daily information about cows. He sold the company as it got boring (or so it seems from the outside) as he really like developing new things. The users are now stuck with a system where he take time to make updates 1-2 times a year, which is less than needed when the systems it communicate with, are updated. So the users are left with a system that can't do what it's bought to do all the time anymore. I'm afraid CowConnect can end in the same situation in a not too distant future, and it's far to expensive for that.

I use dinamica. They do 80% of it and are cheaper and i think they will stay around.
