Got a lovely little 2nd calver who was bulling Christmas Day who looks to have injured herself, up on toes slightly, floppy tail etc other than metacam, strawbox and time is there anything that can be done?

If he uses steroid she won’t hold in calf and may aswell get the gun out notSteroid is generally better for nerve damage
Unlikely at that stage, it's a more realistic risk after 100 days.If he uses steroid she won’t hold in calf and may aswell get the gun out not
We had one similar a few weeks ago, 5th calver stuck in cubicle because she couldn't get up, rear fetlocks all knuckled over, had been bulling hard the previous day, AI'd; presume spinal nerve injury. Metacam plus we did give her calcium as she was a bit milk-fever-ish, Lifted her to a straw bed, couldn't stand for a day but could drag herself on her front end, next day she stood several times although only for a few seconds, hocks and fetlocks all bent like she was having a pee on tiptoe. Another day and she could stand for 5 mins at a time so we popped a calf on her to keep her in milk, fetlocks bent for over 2 weeks but she looks OK now. Calf will be sold next week and we think she will be OK back in the herd, legs look OK now. Just hope she is in calf; will have been about 4 weeks since she went down.Got a lovely little 2nd calver who was bulling Christmas Day who looks to have injured herself, up on toes slightly, floppy tail etc other than metacam, strawbox and time is there anything that can be done?
