What kind of rates are being used with OSR ?

i'm at 100kgs /ha (VRA) but have read that it can be a bit scorchy ? 100kgs gives 18kgs N /ha which is not a lot and less than the 20kgs N we used as UAS liquid on the 750a

Anyone had issues with DAP and seedling scorch at all ?

I think it's the concentration down the row that's important. I use 40kg/ha on 45cm row width, any more pushes the rape too hard, causing transient trace element issues in my experience. On a 22.5cm row I would go up to 80kg/ha ect.

150kg in the row, 45cm spacing. Have used 200kg previously but thought it quite an expensive exercise, rape looked fantastic all winter though!

We use 50kg I the row at 38cm row spacing . We have experimented in the past at 50-75and 100kg but could se no real difference . The pic below is the difference between 0kg and 50kg .

I've certainly never seen scorching at any rate with DAP; but I do farm in the north of Scotland so conditions will certainly differ from yours clive.

Great photo, be interesting if you had a yield map to see the difference at harvest.

I'll bet it's very little difference to yield as long as the crop survived the flea beetle & pigeons. It does make you feel better all winter & arguably builds a better plant in early spring that should have lower N winter losses if it has responded well enough to turn all the DAP into biomass.

Last year I did 120kg dap down a 250mm row, this year I have upped it 160kg. I do get a degree of separation with the seedhawk coulter
