DAP through a JD 750a

We want to put DAP down the spout with our Rape next year when we drill it. We planned to fit a Stocks applicator to the drill to meter seed into the 750 Venturi, then fill the drill hopper with DAP. I have been told by someone that it will wear the metering system, has anyone ever done it or have any better ideas?

I put dap on with our 750a with no problems. We didn’t see any wear on the fluted roller at all . I did change all the bolts on and around the metering unit for stainless though .

Thanks Bob for the reply. Did you put the seed through the Venturi with a separate applicator?

Hi , mine was a 6m , so we split the hopper to seed/fert . Our drill was piped so that the front and rear distribution heads both went to the rear row of coulters for OSR and fert in wider rows . If you have a 3 or 4m drill with single metering unit you can drop as many different products as you like into the venturi it will distribute them evenly.

I put DAP in the tank and built a smaller hopper on the side to hold the seed. This goes into the same venturi through a seperate extra metering device.
