Is there any reason the rear linkage on my db995 is stuck in the top position and wont lower, I've done everything the instruction hook tells me but I must be doing something wrong as I have never used a tractor before im not sure if it's me or something else

I've tried the three way valve in all positions 1 2 L1 and L but nothing moves. When I put the valve in L1 I can here the system change pitch so something is happening but still movement. I've replaced the quick release valve to the left of the lowering arms just above the pto because before when I selected L1 or L this leaked, when I did that and started the tractor the arms lifted and stayed there ever since

No they have been up for about a month now. The tractor has got a loader if that makes any difference and that works in 1 2 L1 and L
Is the loader plumbed into the 3 way valve? It would usually be plumbed into port 1 so should only work in 1 or L1 once the linkage is fully raised. It should never work in L or 2 if connected to 1.
You had problems with oil leaking out of the tipping pipe before didn't you? I think the 3 way valve is your problem.

The lift linkage should work in LPosition on the three way valve, you might need to lift the arms to release the lift lock, pull the lever up to release the lift lock, sometimes the pins behind the plastic lift lock lever can break too.

I haven't seen any plastic on the lift lock all I can see is the long bar that goes from lock near the linkage held with a r clip and then up into the cab behind the seat to the left

UPDATE
I've had some weight on the linkage today to see if would lower but all it wants to do is lift in L or L1 I've even put a bottle jack on the arms between the cab to see if I could forcibly push it down but even with the selectamatic handle in lower, lift or select all it wants to do is lift, it just wont come down. It drops about a cm when I turn off the engine. Any ideas before my only option is to start and strip every part of the hydraulic system to see if theres anything broken but I dont think this would really help me much as my only experience with hydraulics is the bottle jack I was just using

is the slectamatic lever in the correct position?
This is the little 3 position lever behind the driver on the right hand side.
to change pull the main lift lever right back and twist the selectamatic lever to anticlockwise

I've tried pulling the handle right back against the spring and have selected tcu, height and depth and then tried to lower and lift and have tried this in all positions on the 3 way valve selecting 1,2,L and L1 and all that happens is the linkage just wants to keep lifting.

The selector won't make any difference, the linkage should drop whether it's in height, depth or external.
The linkage dropping about a centimetre when the engine stops means the linkage must be resting on the lift latch.
This is the lift latch in the released position

With the engine off, the 3 way valve in L and the lift lever fully down, stand behind the tractor and lift the linkage with 1 hand (it isn't heavy) whilst lifting the lift latch with the other then let the linkage fall. If it only drops a centimetre or so then the problem is in the lift latch.
