Am I right in saying the 16th April is the deadline to have your dryer completed and application in? If so is there anything I can do to insure I get RHI if I don’t think it will quite be ready?

As soon as your Ofgem Rhi application is submitted this will be your start date. Make sure you have all the details to submit or your consultant does.

All the information is in these guides

I’m not sure the drying room will be finished though for the pictures to be sent in so is there any tricks that can delay it etc? Is the 16th the deadline? It’s a drying room for logs heated by AD plant to be specific

Just get some of these lads to pm you some close caption drying floors they’re nearly all the same and get it built sharpish in case you’re selected for audit

It’s an underfloor system like in a house so nothing really to see other than concrete. I can only take pictures of the process of building it I suppose

I believe that there is a 6 month window that started on Jan 21st. As long as you can prove that the system install had started before this date you have until July. Its the drying of waste that will be stopped on the 16th April, if in fact that is the date. Its still all here say. Ofgen are likely to be inspecting sites so be careful of generic pictures!

It's had to go back to to parliament for some mods I believe, heard it will be 2nd week in May now.

Also heard that staff and Worcestershire council have submitted freedoms of information requests for all biomass boilers in their county.

Dread to think what they are up to

If this is correct then I needn’t be rushing so much. Can’t find anything on internet about it though? How sure are you that it’s been delayed to 2nd week in May?

Ring the farm energy centre and ask.

I was on the phone talking about projects whilst negotiating with my 3 yr old to get her shoes on! Pretty sure that's what was said but that topic wasn't of interest so I didn't pay enough attention

I had a chat with a gentleman who supplies boilers the other day, apparently they are wanting to check to make sure everyone is burning the right kinds of chip.

Also that the people supplying the chip are supplying the right stuff.

It looks like they may try and crack down on people burning anything other than virgin wood.

A lot depends on what the boiler is certified to burn and then what the EA will permit. Anything over 400kw is more likely to be out.

They will probably be looking at planning and possibly ratings?

Yeah, if you have a boiler that is certified to burn the fuel you are burning then all is good. But you know there will be a fair few folk out there trying to get more out of it by burning stuff they aren't supposed to.

It won't be difficult for them to catch you out either, unless you are down as producing your own fuel.

One of mine is certified to burn grade A but I can't burn it under EA rules.

They are after those burning grade c etc. Paper trail needs to start from the producer I guess
We were looking at a WID compliant system, it seems the EA are really hot on it. If you don't have the paper trail for sufficient supply of an appropriate woodchip, they will only assume you're burning some kind of waste.

With the cost of the stamp to burn it being that high, I can imagine the fine for burning it without the stamp is going to be pretty hefty too.

Apparently 16th was the deadline but because of Easter, it’s probably not going to get discussed in parliament until 3 weeks later but know one can be sure so I should still try get it in by 16th.
