Dealer Open Day

Talk to people! Some folk arnt inclined to walk in and start asking the sales team questions, it’s a fine line between giving them space and asking a simple “ is there anything I can help with “
I recall the Yorkshire show , we mooched around a tractor dealership stand and we’re completely ignored by three salmon cord wearing sales bods , they stood in a group knowing we were looking at a tractor, even the tractors doors were all locked so we moved on
Sounds like Ripon farm services..

What’s the love in with hog roasts. I hate the things . Usually the stuffing is like a paste and used to replace proper butter on the over dry bap.
Agree,
Had a pork bap yesterday, swimming in fat to the extent half was thrown away and the two of us consumed copious amounts of antacids to settle everything down.

Talk to the ladies equally. They may be holding the cheque book.
My wife was looking for and at a car whilst I was hanging around, but the salesman came straight to me. “You’ve just lost the sale”.
That's nonsense, one minute we are giving out about the salesperson not approaching us, then when they do you tell them they've approached the wrong person and aren't getting a sale. Could you not have just said that it was your wife that is making the decisions?

Doe show next week down here in sunny Essex.

I will probably go along and take the staff as the price is on virtually every machine and it makes my chaps appreciate that we can't have new kit all the time.

Prices on the machines are a saving grace there. Salesmen like hens teeth - admittedly there are usually lots of customers.

Very difficult to buy anything even if you wanted.

Discounts on the day too.

A tent full of old stock at bargain prices is very popular.

In fairness have bought a few times from the show without any hassle, it does help if you know the local sales person for the area already.....

Well Done to them for putting prices on, far too much "POA" going on these days.

And DON'T forget to speak to the younger guests too!
These grow up quick, remember, and are CUSTOMERS of the future.
True that, I gained fondness for my preferred machinery brands when I was about 8. Of course plenty research and asking about in the time in between, but the branding, looks of a machine and posters is what hooks youngsters in and you gain a fondness for them. Suppose if the company lasts the 10-15 year from then till when you're starting to be the once swaying the decisions on machinery then they can't be too bad either. In my case Marshall, Massey, Redrock. All through my life, we had worked with entirely Fraser kit at home from around the 90s and earlier, but it was getting done and you don't get it anymore. I used to have Marshall brochures as a wean, looked through them countless times and always thought they were a nice looking cart with cool branding, better looking than today I'd go as far to say. Marshall cart came in 2018. I was born and bred Massey, mean, familiar story to everybody, but anyway, the 7716 landed when I came home from college in 2020. Then as a lad our contractor worked with various makes of trailer but the Redrock always stood out as a right cool trailer to me, the branding, the fact it just looked strong and overall a smart looking cart, my uncle bought a shiny new Redrock tanker as well in 2008 which was more of the same. My I remember at the time dad would say ohhh they're too heavy and my grandpa said you'd just be supporting the IRA 😂 but anyway, Redrock tanker landed in last year, first bit of kit I actually went and saw, specced, negotiated and ordered with the old man's go-ahead. So that's me got my childhood toybox! To sum up, don't forget the weans, plaster them with as much merch and fancy posters as you possibly can cuz they'll come back to you.
