not the same market here for the air gunners and there has been some big changes in gun laws. including shooting ranges
a big area with mountain biking hiking etc etc

I fully understand the tightening of gun laws in New Zealand and thought that perhaps sub 12 ft/lb air rifles may be becoming more popular and less problematic. Just crazy towny, out o' the box, thinking! (y)

that that is the thing. at times thinking out of the box not just. getting bogged down of this is the only outcome hard for a lot to see when in dark places
interesting alot of people that seem to be doing. very well. with new ideas etc have been tested. with mental health. probs. and once they have fought back have gone ahead with a diffrent mind set knowing. they have to live life

JD,

I do metal detecting, photography, and air-gun target shooting and occasionally read the UK detecting magazines. Last week my wife dragged me to the local bingo house and whilst she played the numbers game I read one of my old detecting mags, cover to cover; just to kill the boredom.

Within the detecting magazines' pages was a story of a college lecturer, who crumbled psychologically under the pressures of work and lost both his job and his status. During the recovery period the lecturer commenced to fit brass boot-saver plates on the spades of one or two detectorist friends but didn't stop there; he then engraved the face of the blades on a couple of the spades.

I was totally impressed by both this guy's willingness to share his psychological burnout with us all and his simple artistry; he completely blew me away!

I still have the mag, so will see if I can post the article in here; it underscores what you say about new ideas coming forth from people who have been mentally (psychologically) tested.

I recently got diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. Was just wondering if anyone else on here had any experience of it? Feel free to pm if you want. Took me about 5 years of going to a doctor to actually get a diagnosis that made sense... just sharing it on here.... as kinda abit lost at the moment.

Good for you, actually your symptoms/ story rings a few bells with someone close to me.
Thanks for sharing, it may have been difficult, however it may have also opened a wee door for someone else

Good morning BB,

Has your GP prescribed any medication to assist you in handling this 'borderline personality disorder'? Not knowing us, nor us knowing you, removes some of the hurdles to sharing.

The anonymity I write of is what underscores the power of the Samaritans and the work that they are doing to help and support trouble folk. One doesn't actually have to be suicidal to ring the Samaritan and talk things through.

Most, if not all, of us in this thread have been through the mill of anger/anxiety/depression and come on the other side wiser, stronger, and more capable than before.

I would suggest keeping a diary and seeing if there are specific events that trigger or make things worse for you.
