You’re far more likely to get a cord that actually meets Category 6 spec if you buy factory made / terminated patch leads. Plenty available at decent prices.The cat6 cable we have used will not physically push into some of the plastic and plastic/metal cat6 rj45 plugs. I have tried a bunch and a load have gone in the bin
Fixed (solid core) cabling (jack to jack) is fine as you should be able to terminate that without any tools, just keep the twists up as close as you can onto the IDCs on the back of the jack.
It’s normal for the different colour pairs to have different twist ratios too, so some pairs will appear “looser” than others. Don’t retwist / overtwist the pairs to compensate.
