RBeen stuck by the gp on 5 different sorts of anti depressants over the years. 9 month waiting list to see a specialist they said so I said don't feckin bother then. Handed my guns in and chainsawed every limb off every tree in the yard so I guess I'm fairly safe now. NHS are pretty much no help at all, tick some boxes, shuffle some paper and on your merry way.

{A cyberpat of sympathy and empathy} @TonyMartinwasright . It's a long wait - I've been there - and the GPs will be as frustrated as you are.

Hope the chainsawing was cathartic - certainly productive of logs ☺ . Is there a tug-o-war team near you? Something similar, to channel your obvious strength and energies?

Wanted to Like your post only because I know how you feel.. all this talk about getting help from the gp,, what help? Tablets and ...... nothing. I’m not frustrated anymore, been here for 25 years.
The NHS is bogged down with a lot of people feeling sad, while many people who are seriously ill mentally are stuck on a long waiting list..

I have a bit of a problem with painful knees - osteo arthritis . The doc put me on anti depressants ! When I said I didn't ever get depressed he said " Ah yes , these are bloody awful antidepressant tablets, but they are pretty good painkillers " I went off them PDQ when I started to get very unforseen side effects !

I would have thought the biggest factor in farming is financial and its not even listed but what do i know
If you tick the "other" box and fill in the detail it asks you questions about the stressor that you have listed. ie, "demonization of our industry by the press", "weather", "TB" etc.
This is not an industry specific survey, so if enough people list such things, the message may be sent to those causing the stress, or may be able to do something about it.

Crime is a stressor here. When you don't know whats going to be stolen next and are losing the tools you need to do the job it can be stressful and a waste of time. Nobody in authority seems to care either. This would be the thing that makes me pack up. Can't run a business when crime reaches a certain level.
