Thinking about buying a Deutz Fahr 5125 but would like to view one before purchasing. There is no main dealer in the county. Wondering if anyone in Lincolnshire has one that I could come and see? TIA.

No this isn’t correct, the hitch should not be stiff. Where did you buy the tractor from ? UK and Irish tractors all have Dromone hitches fitted in the Treviglio factory which are very good and smooth.

Thanks. Bought from Deutz dealership in Kings Lynn. Dealer has been out to it and said they are stiff, that’s how they come but it’s hurting my arms lifting it.

This isn’t right. DF have a very good market share in this type of tractor, the 5 series is apparently their most popular, can’t imagine people would put up with this. The cable release could be damaged or is the hitch slightly bent ?

Just spoke to a friend who is an expert on these. He said cable routing or cable probably seized up or the main pivot for hooks seizing up or a combination of all 3. Disconnect cable at hooks to see if it free to pull in and out and grease the hooks pivot.

Hi, thank you so much, this is very helpful. Do you know if you can adjust the lever in the cab as the lever is extremely stiff to manoeuvre, not smooth and easy to use at all? Many thanks.

Think that following the diagnosis it should free the lever unless that is damaged as well. Try what my friend suggested first, think it’s probably just a cable and cable housing problem

Greased the hooks it is the handle/cable in the cab that is almost impossible to pull as per video. Do you think the cable is damaged, it is extremely tight as you can see. Cheers.

If you can disconnect the cable at the bottom, it should become clear if it's the cable or mechanism that's tight. A helper to pull the cable back down and apply oil would be useful.

No that’s not right, ours is nothing like that.
Another thing to try is make sure the pickup hitch is pulled right in. I’m not used to a push-out pickup hitch and it has caught me out before.
