Devon Farm Business Awards - last call for nominations!

Addington Fund’s Devon Farm Business Awards celebrates the 10th anniversary this May, and the event will once again honour the best in agriculture across the county. Held the evening before the Devon County Show, on 15th May, the Awards will recognize and celebrate four exciting new categories: Rising Star, Agricultural Innovator, Farming Champion and Lifetime Achievement.

The glittering occasion will welcome guests for an evening of delicious, locally sourced food, networking and the opportunity to meet Devon’s finest, farming heroes. The event is principally sponsored by Cornish Mutual, with support from the Devon County Agricultural Association and will be held at the Devon County Showground.

The Awards will look towards the future of farming in Devon, as well as recognizing the achievements across the county in the last decade. With the introduction of four exciting new categories, the judges are looking for a diverse range of entrants. This year’s categories are:
  • Rising Star – sponsored by Savills and Mole Valley Farmers, with Devon YFC
    • Addington Fund is working with Devon YFC to encourage entries from the 37 Clubs across the county. In this category the judges are looking for a passionate and dedicated young person with a positive attitude and progressive approach towards farming and the future.
  • Agricultural Innovator - sponsored by Trowers & Hamlins and Wescotts
    • Judges will be looking for an individual or business demonstrating innovation through farming practices or a successful diversification complementing an existing farm business.
  • Farming Champion – sponsored by Crediton Dairy and NFU
    • The judging panel will be looking for a person who champions the sector, promotes positive messages around farming and engages with their local and wider community. This could be someone working in farming, a related profession or an individual working for positive change in farming.
  • Lifetime Achievement – sponsored by Cornish Mutual
    • For this category the judges will be looking for an individual who has made an outstanding and unique contribution to farming over a long period, with significant and positive impact.

Addington Fund has partnered with Taste of the West and Mulberry Catering to curate a menu of locally sourced produce which will showcase the best produce in the South West. Guests will enjoy welcome drinks and canapes, a delicious two course dinner and have the opportunity to learn more about the work of Addington Fund, a national farming charity supporting farmers in times of crisis.

Nominations are now open for the four categories and close on 7 March. Tickets available at £95 with discounts for full tables. To nominate or book your tickets, please visit www.farmbusinessawards.org.uk
