Disc drill from Sumo

Apart from the old Moore system , did i read somewhere that Sumo are to launch a disc drill, any one seen it

Yes was meant to be at Cereals this year but it appears that the sucess of DTS and running out of time meant its been delayed for time being

JNG, no idea just what I was told by Sumo when I asked.

yep we're still working on it, at the moment it is in the workshop being cut up to do some major modifications, we'll hopefully be in the field later in the season. As said above we're concentrating on getting DTS's to customers.
We will keep you up to date with progress as and when anything significant happens

I remember at the TFF drill trial that clive mentioned that Sumo were taking more than a passing interest in the 750a drill of his.
Could it be a version of this with fert and a few other modifications?

Is the versa (plus) still in manufacture? Non current machines lose value like nowt else, might as well paint em white and fit a large trunk on the front!!

There was a very new looking drill on display today called the DD, looked very interesting! I didn't get any pics though sorry

200 mm coulter spacing seems a bit wide? No good for pasture unless you cross drill I guess. Thing is if it isn't a lot cheaper than a 750a why would you even look at it?

Yes but most UK farms would be OK with a drill of 6 m or less. And the fert is down the spout so not a major selling point really. I'm not knocking it and would be interested at the right price if it can do the job.

yes Sumo have been telling me this was on drawing board / in build a while now and was fundementally pretty close to a 750a coulter, will be interesting to see how it goes but its aim is ULD zero-till drilling
