Hiyah,
It's our first year for lambing and the ewes have just been brought in for lambing but our barn has no solid floor and is on soft ground.
We've put straw down for them but was is the best (but cheap!) type of disinfectant powder and how often would you apply?
TIA!!!

Cheap solution if you are close to a softwood sawmill - I used to get trailer loads of wet fine sawdust and dump it about six inches deep before bedding the cattle for winter. The pine oil has a disinfecting effect. Also good around feed rings for sheep, it tends to bind the soil and stop it turn into mud.

We also had a local softwood seasoned firewood processor in the area and they were happy for me to take away all of their sawdust/shavings.
