This is the issue more than anything else for me. Your trousers get lagged in sh1t and you have to take them as well off when you come inside. Boots for me as long as possible but winter Yard work means welliesI've always worn high leg boots but there are some things you just have to wear wellies for.
If you're taking then off more than once a day it's a pain to lace them back up again plus your trousers get the works.
Spend money on decent comfortable boots and equally on decent comfortable wellies.
I have no problems spending more money on work boots than any other footwear. I'm in them more than anything else.
Live in AltBerg Defenders, year round. Although I see they've (MOD requirements) stopped using speed lace hooks and now use loops right to the top of the boot so I've probably bought my last pair for working in.
No issues in winter. Tuck the bottoms of my jeans into the boots as I lace up, then waterproof trousers/bib & brace keeps me clean and dry. The ankle support and comfort is worth the extra hassle of laces.
My son lives in a pair of haix, they are great boots .Boss wears Hiax
I have a new pair with the eyelets to the top and I reckon they are quicker to put on and take off thank the lace hooks. Just tie a knot in the end of the laces so then you can pull them loose and the laces don't pull through the eyelets
