Do we live in a civilised world ?

At the start of the Ukraine crisis I’d tried to think the best of Putin rather than the worst but there is no denying he has evil or at the very least seriously misguided or warped intent. If this crisis has done one good thing it’s made clear that Putin needs stopping and needs holding to account. Every day that passes galvanises resistant to him around the world and shows him up for the nasty piece of work he truly is.

In terms of a military invasion, the Russians are holding back. No blanket air raids or huge missile attacks and only about half of the available troops deployed.

I'd say Putin isn't looking to destroy Ukrainian infrastructure as the aim is to put a puppet Govt in place (again) and let life carry on much as before, but as a buffer between Russia and Nato backed states.

Imagine what the Yanks would do if Canada signed a mutual defence treaty with China and let their military train near the US border!

I heard that Britain gets most of its gas from the North Sea etc and that it only imports 3% from Russia, unlike Germany. They should have seen this coming 8 years ago, its been on the cards this long, and done something about it for infrastructure wise etc. Apparently Russian money has lost a huge amount of value already and Russians are queueing to remove their money.... A case of Berlin after ww2? I think one of the best things that can be done, one of the most effective things, is to make Russia's economy crash and, while still sending weapons over to Ukraine and some special forces to teach them how to use them, Russia will become desperate, they won't be able to afford food etc, people will starve and then the Russians will oust putin. The thing is if you keep them with shelter and food they're happy, always been the case with Russia, the moment that gets ripped away you get massive issues. Crushing them financially is the only way to get him out of government, that and making Ukraine as hard as possible to get into... We shall see tho

Putins forces deliberately targeting civilians over night .
Are we really going to stand back and watch?
If women and children were being attacked near by and you had the strength to stop it , surely you would?
In a civilised world we would not just sit and watch.
Putin would wet his pants if a western country got involved & we know he fears NATO.
It depends what world you are comparing it to ?
As for the fighting amongst ourselves that will carry on till we are gone or have a common enemy.
Is it civilised when our country or the yanks attack another country and women/children and other innocent bystanders get killed?

Yes it's still very wrong when western forces end up killing innocent bystanders but what we are seeing & there is extra footage today, is the deliberate targeting of civilians.
Fighting amongst ourselves seemed to have stopped in Europe as we have all found a common enemy.
As someone who voted for Brexit, I'm really pleased to see the European countries working as one , maybe a common enemy is what they needed....this is certainly back firing on Putin , he's created a Stronger NATO & a Stronger Europe within a week.
