I under stand that but has it been designed to cost a fortune so people dont bother ! who decides what the re reg figures should be and should they be so high if the product is still safe and working.(and I mean really safe )
It is almost as if the large corporations/pharmaceuticals have lobbied various Governments to ensure that only people are allowed to use their high margin latest product and once that registration expires and does not earn them anything/much let it become uneconomic to renew. In effect the law is only helping the large corporations with high margin product all the time regardless of the health and environmental concerns.

Thanks for the info, you could not make it up could you!! so do our government and CRD really not care about the rest of the world! just what re have available to us in the UK
Had a long discussion with local Labour MP about these sorts of issues. I said it was morally wrong to ban but still produce, export products and import commodities. Had an even longer discussion about employment opportunities in the NE. It all comes down to politics. :(

But what is acceptable in some countries may be wholly useless or inappropriate in others. For example, in the USA the impact of herbicides may be less because farms and sensitive crops are miles apart etc or they just have less rainfall and so pesticides entering ground water is not so much of an issue etc.

The loss of Epoxi and CTL basically doubled my T1 costs most years.
A year like this I would be looking at newer chemistry anyway, but bang for buck a well timed 0.75-1L Epoxi + 1L CTL was very hard to beat. If timings slipped it had lost its edge towards the end, but if you could get it on at the perfect timing it still performed very well and was better than most current offerings on rusts.

So you would lobby to say we want this chemistry that the governments health and safety dept have deemed unsafe for the environment and human health?
Do you not understand lobbying? could it be the chemical companies wanting them banned to bring on more profitable alternative, or even the people testing the "better actives " to keep them in a job proving that the new chemistry is a small % better than that they want banning, Cynical I know but could it be reality? its a big commercial world.

CRD are primarily concerned with products impacting the environment and human health. My friend used to work for them. They were actually quite pragmatic and didn't ban things too hastily in reality. Some of these products were extremely problematic for the environment/water supplies or had very nasty effects on human health. It surprises me that PDM is still allowed- it's thought to be linked to bladder cancer because it's based on chemistry similar to aniline dyes which are definitely carcinogenic. They don't just ban this stuff for the lulz- it's for a reason. You guys are the one handling the concentrates, too, so it's you who are first in the firing line.
