I am thinking of give my hogget a worm dose and cobalt and was wondering if this will have an impact on the lambs.

Cobalt isn’t stored in the body so, if you have established a deficiency, and you wish to supplement by drenching, you will need to do it at least weekly.
If you don’t have a Co deficiency, then there’s no benefit to giving it.

As for giving it at the same time as wormer, some wormers contain Co & Se, to give a (short term) boost, so there is clearly no problem giving concurrently. If they need Cobalt then give it, but there are more effectiv3 ways than drenching with it.
When @livestock 1 is back from his night out in blouses 😲 he might give you some information on the boluses he uses?

Not sure if it`s the right way but I`d go down the race with one and then start again at the beginning with the other - only get 15 or 20 in the race at a time so it`s a faff changing
So you swap between 👙&👗 while drenching sheep. That’s fine, I won’t judge. Do you wear the 👠 the whole time though?

Back too topic 😉
I read on a mineral drench bottle that for best results always drench with mineral first, followed by the wormer. Don’t know why, but it makes no real difference too me which I pick up so that’s the way I drench them. Never had a problem yet.

I’ve used the ACT lamb BOLUSES this time. We shall see.

Haha I need some specs I think it’s my age 🤓
Advice years ago and off vet was to do separate times. Advice of drench supplier was not to mix it. That was for best results. To be fair I have done both mixed it years ago then dosed together with two separate doses more recently.
Boluses ha Smartrace 24/7 + copper for ewes
Animax ones for lambs with a separate copper tablet
If you are going to bolus and you are short of cobalt you will need to give a mineral drench first as it will take time for the bolus to work
I’m off to change my frock now

Have been putting cobalt sulphate in store lambs water, rain water collected in tanks then gravity to troughs, has good effect where we are short as here and they get it daily, very cheap too.
