simple answer , yes. Land sales have to be registered I think with HMRC it has to go through a solicitor and you will also need to show where you got the money from to purchase if it is over £10K

Ive not seen title document that does not show price after about year 2000. Needs very very good reason for LR to not record price.
Interesting, so can anyone just look this information up? Reason I ask is all the land we’ve bought has been private treaty so theoretically no one other than those involved In the transaction should know what we’ve paid.

That's sale method not land registry procedures .
Anyone can go online pay a fee to search the registers and all is revealed

Doesn't matter if it is a private sale or not - land is required to be registered upon transfer of ownership, agricultural land should be also be registered with the Rural Land Registry.
Yes I know that.
I was replying to chap that thought because he sold land as a private treaty everything there after he thought, ie Land registry details would be private also?

Yes, I understand that land is required to be registered wether sold privately or not, what I was wondering is does the purchase price get recorded and can that be looked up by anyone?

Just tried on the link posted above, cant see any details without paying £3,
I think the fee is there to deter nosy Parker’s like me looking up who has bought x’s farm and how much they got for it, quite rightly so, but hey what is £3 pounds these days.
From what I can see one has to pay £20 plus to find out much information.

Have you taken any land out of production from last autumn?
