Mine get flukiver/solantel pre lambing and triclabendazole pre tupping. A clear a month post lambing may be on the cards with the ewe problems I’m having.
That’s the theory. However, I suspect doing so has allowed haemonchus to build up here, which has resulted in 100 less lambs in the affected bunch.
Guy I know who is just getting into sheep nearly lost them going on college and vets advice on dosing sheep! You must dose your sheep, keep getting shot down on here for saying it.
What is seen as wisdom in the college /textbook often doesnt work in real life.
Ridiculous isnt it, its not fair on the sheep and you havnt much chance of making any money.Guy I know who is just getting into sheep nearly lost them going on college and vets advice on dosing sheep!
I hope so. Timing of the fluke dose to kill the haemonchus and fluke at optimal times might be an issue but will just have to see how it goes.Closantel will clear out Haemonchus (as does/did Trodax) so even if you don't worm your ewes, you will (SHOULD) keep ontop of that issue?...
Edit: DanM beat me to this point
