You can clear the ewes out of haemonchus, with closantel. Don’t need to increase pressure on wormer groups. We’ve been doing this now for last two years and does help. Did all ewes pre-tupping this year due to haemonchus pressure.
Mine get flukiver/solantel pre lambing and triclabendazole pre tupping. A clear a month post lambing may be on the cards with the ewe problems I’m having.

All my ewes were running together before tupping, before splitting into their tupping paddocks. Only those tupped in one paddock (parkland where I always run my singles, unwormed) got hit, those tupped elsewhere were fine.
They can only have picked them up from that paddock, and only from early November.

I was worried about giving Closantel later, in case the already weak ones keeled over.

That’s the theory. However, I suspect doing so has allowed haemonchus to build up here, which has resulted in 100 less lambs in the affected bunch.

Closantel will clear out Haemonchus (as does/did Trodax) so even if you don't worm your ewes, you will (SHOULD) keep ontop of that issue?...

Edit: DanM beat me to this point

Guy I know who is just getting into sheep nearly lost them going on college and vets advice on dosing sheep!
Ridiculous isnt it, its not fair on the sheep and you havnt much chance of making any money.
As long as im farming i'll dose them as they need it and keep them healthy.
If in the future there is no dosing that works due to resistance and my sheep are taking harm i will retire and do something else.
Breaks my heart to see lean , badly thrifted ewes.
