the farming in the dry. with his system works for him others will need different systems the book. tells about his system
every farm is different it's. getting in to a system that works with the seasons and the weather patterns and not get knocked down
the biggest asset on farms. are the people and skills it's. making those things resilient
there will be guys. that went though BSE. foot and mouth etc that will read the book and find it. tough going the. feelings of being out of control can't help there animals. etc cropping. guy with 4 years of. dry. with. no crops will know that feeling too
early parts of the book some will go thats me and not realise
I also know of his work. with mental health. and helping others and I know that one phone call to him. is the reson I'm still typing today
so if you. have the chance to hear him even if it's a bit of a trip and a day or 2 off farm please make the trip

Certainly not a dry party of the world where I am but I took things from his book.
If what someone has to say just gets you thinking about what you do then it's worthwhile. Sometimes it will reaffirm your doing the right thing other times it will let you make an improvement.
Either way I've booked my flights to go and listen, catch up with friends at the same time.

know. Doug looked at different. farms every farm has it's own prob or areas have probs
wet. dry. to far from markets hilly. poor water supply etc etc etc
in the. end it's how you can make the best. of. the area you farm in work with what you have. and build systems that are long lasting and enjoyable
