Downspout diverter

I am well familar with the kit for attaching to domestic downspouts to divert water into a butt. Work well and very useful.

I have a new barn with central downspouts either end off the 6" guttering, and would like to harvest the water for the stock through a pair of IBC's over winter. Has anyone seen large diameter diverters available? Roof is new tin so no nasties up there...

I have one of those to harvest/filter water from one of my rooves, on a 4" downpipe. It really does work very well.

I take the mesh filter out and clean it every Spring, as it gets a biofilm build up on the gauze, otherwise I don't touch it.

Where the rainwater comes down the sides of the pipe steadily, most of it is filtered through the mesh. If you get a thunderstorm, water will maybe flow straight down the pipe and not touch the sides, so lost to the drain?

Need to do some measurements etc. Was thinking IBC's but they are awful in teh summer when mould grows!

I think I still have an orange juice tank somewahere....
You can get IBC with galvanised steel outer and the normal plastic insert then you dont get algae problems. Can also stack 3 high so 3 x3 would give 9k ltrs. Easy to manifold 3 IBC's together at the same height which also gives a choice of different water pressures depending on which level of the stack you use.
