Sorry couldn't say too much but have pm details to those that asked ,but it turns out farming land for 40 years constantly flooding,lack of river maintance who am I to comment on planning applications I'm just a stupid farmer who knows nothing about drainage.Sorry upset this morning grazing land under water.
Once planning is passed I will post the whole story.
 
Councils now employ a Drainage Officer, whose job it is to assess risk to property or highways from development.
In our case she's stopped the proposed evelopment stone dead, not allowing the applicant to 'bridge' a flood alleviation pipe, and insisting on 'exceedance pathways' and 'overland flow routes'.
If that includes flooding agricultural land, you divert it onwards.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
