can I ask why not try and weatherproof the rear locker instead of mesh?

did think about it but all it will transport is in waterproof bags etc (slug pellets, avadex and IBC's)

Looks good. Shame about the colour!

What way have you worked the split hopper? Would it be possible to have a pic or 2 of it? Have the same bin and may split the bin in the future.

I know ! I was outvoted on colour and it did make sense to match the drill - hopper is a 50/50 split - will post some pics later

You will have the local green and yellow dealer think they are about to sell a fleet of new tractors to match the machinery.

ironically there is not a single machine they make that even gets my interest other than the drill they don't really want to sell anyone !

Thanks. Auger for each compartment, or a changeable flap at the bottom? Just have a single auger on the bin here.

2 augers and a slide for each half hopper

can run both augers together when using single product for faster fill

Are you going to put sidelight type lights ( run off a battery) at the top of trailer and the end of the auger to make finding it in the dark a bit easier. Smart build.

been talking to @UTV Products who are helping plan the lighting and we are running a work lights and road light circuit. Plan is to have LED work lights (side and rear) on a plug that will plug into the drill along with the hydraulic pipes, considered a battery system but it will probably always be flat ! Will post more when its being fitted (early next week hopefully)

The battery system would be interesting, charging from the power supply on the drill/solar panel.
Could have a PIR movement switch on the work lights?

What I was getting at was small lights not for illuminating but so when you are at the other side of the field you can spot where the trailer is and drive straight to it instead of having to go hunting for it.

there are marker lights in the plan, would just need to incorporate a battery to power them I guess to do what you say .......got me thinking now

I have a spare solar panel from an old auto gate we no longer use, wonder how long a battery would keep work lights powered and how long a solar panels would take to recharge it during the days ?

Well if you plug it into the drill with the hydraulics the solar would top it up during the day and allow the light to stay on as the drill is connected/disconnected. The tractor would run the lights while connected and any spare current would charge the battery. Solar panel might struggle to keep the battery good enough for night drilling on its own?

Wonder how big was the gate (n)

We have just got a shipment of 6ft flexible light sticks on their way in as a demo. These would be ideal for mounting to a trailer and hooked up to a little AA battery pack running 12v for spotting trailers in the dark. Watch this space.

@Clive I can do the sums tomorrow in terms of load draw but at full tilt everything will pull about 10amps. You could quite easily just use a multi position changeover switch to go from battery to hookup to give you best of both worlds, without much extra wiring.

As a suggestion, get your sparkie to put in an extra sidelight feed from the auxiliary wiring box with a diode on it. That way you could feed the sidelights off a battery if needs be.

big box of lights here ready to fit, sparky here Monday now I think so hoping to get this 100% complete next week, great service from @UTV Products helping design and spec what we need legally and operationally even providing a plan for our sparky etc !
