Nearly grew some this time but not keen on the idea. Never grown it before.
been a good year for it so far Chris , the linseed in my pic has only been in the ground 8 days , the linseed planted the day before yours is now pushing on , watch out for flea beetle tho as they can soon turn the field brown again although im hoping the linseed will get away from the little gitsThis linseed grows like a weed. Been in the ground 2 weeks today.View attachment 874689
3 months update; looking t'other way across this bit ^^Most box drills here have 3 boxes - fert, seed, small seeds
The small seed box on this one has 2 settings chiselled in - swedes @0.9kg/ha and kale at 5kg/ha, the fert box is set for drilling 125kgs DAP and the main box had never been used!
Now set for my mix @73.11kg/ha.
Tine drills tend to rattle a bit like you said, but this machine is pretty solid due to 22 big cast press wheels, about 2400kg for a 3 metre machine (so you know it's there in a 3600kg tractor)
I'm really impressed with how well it handles residue, the Duncan I used to use would have struggled.... especially planting beans etc at 35mm deepView attachment 855122
I think you are are buying new seed, then linseed isn't going to pay in any case. With farm saved seed, and following the combine with a buckrake and matches, then it's a good crop.
Are you still going to sell it?View attachment 874762
Might be something in this DD lark, 1st real attempt, Moore Unidrill into sprayed of Natural Regeneration of Wheat and BG on the 11th April.
TBH I thought it was far to hard & dry to work.
A lot of it is BG this end if the field, hence the plunge into DDWas that wheat out the back of the combine or did you spin it on??
Yes, that’s the plan ?Are you still going to sell it?
Your braver than me to be rolling. Looks a bit sad from looking at your wheelings, but I’m sure you know your land better than me .
Photos taken 20/6/2020 except the one sowing in january obviouslySurprised seed getting covered as not removing the tracks. Pre-ems not going to work too well either in those clods.
I'm impressed and stand corrected!Photos taken 20/6/2020 except the one sowing in january obviously
