I have used bow nuts for dual wheel clamps. I couldn't find any with a fine thread so had to replace the bolts as well, the trouble is then that they worked lose. Needed checking regular to start with but fine since. Only on a 95hp tractor though.Just bought a pair of stocks stepdown duals, im in need of an extra two clamps, but also 8 eye nuts.
I popped to my local tyre place, and i nearly fell over when he told me the price of stocks eye nuts, @ nearly £17 each.
Anyone used bow nuts for the job ? Would they be strong enough (4 per wheel) ?
Any other recomendations of where to buy, or what to get.
Thanks HH
Probably no use but on ebay at moment, i paid £15 each for M18 fine ones recently

Seen the first ones, but had a measure this morning and unfortunately the length of the thread is 60mm too short, i need a bolt length of 120mm to fit the lugs on the tractor. Ive a couple of people i need to pop by to see whethet they have something tucked in the back of the stores.
46 inch rim ,with a 42 inch rim cut down to to make the step down ,go into a 800/38 , then welded a rolled flat for clamps to hook ontoWhich way are you wanting to step , just made some step ups from 38 to 46 ,by cutting a rim as its 38 on flat bit where wheel centre fits ,made a tidy conversion ,
