Could anyone help with a bit of info/opinion on earlier Comprimas with chains and slats,2010/2011,please?!i need a baler and we regularly have to do a rubbish third cut late in short very wet grass and I’ve heard Krone are the baler to go for but I can’t afford a newer one with belt and slat.i also like the idea of the twin axles for my hilly, often boggy fields.thanks in advance.

All Comprima balers are belt and slat.
Fortima are the chain and slat design
Before them, the Round Pack were fixed chamber chain and slat, and the Vario Pack were variable chamber chain and slat.
All of the krone baler models will bale anything you can put in front of them.

I see.thought they started out chain and changed to belt.is there anything major to look out for that might be worn out on a 30/40 thousand bale machine?

Comprima are all belt and slat. 40k bales and you might be looking at new belts, along with the usual bearings for a round baler although the design is quite simple and doesn't have too many bearings.

If the budget stretches to it, I have a Comprima Combi for sale on classifieds.

Is that a wrapper too?bit too much for my operation.we just wrap and stack ours back in the yard.would the need for new belts be obvious whilst viewing a baler or can’t you tell until you put it to work?same question for the bearings too actually?

Belts would be quite obviously worn if they are in need of replacing, take a pry bar with you and see if any rollers wobble to check bearings
