Rough rule of thumb here in west Wales is 30k per million gallons of capacity.

Although this could change depending on what you're digging out, eg if you hit rock.

A bulldozer is the most efficient way of moving a lot of dirt.

Got a digger but winter is coming and I have someone looking over my shoulder

It's keeping the digger digging is the main thing. A 30ton+ with a 1m3 bucket should easily do 100 cycles per hour if the dump trailers are qued up which would be around the £1.20 per m3 hire rate plus the red diesel.

Lift the banking height with it,no point moving it far, you need 750mm free board so it might as well be used for this.

We have meters of clay so no need for liner
However we are very flat so all capacity has to be below ground apart from freeboard
