Eid tags and auto ID

Running a fullwood/crystal parlour with auto id using tags. Bought a few cows with eid tags from Ireland and the parlour picks up their eid tag as well as the crystal tag. Can i stop it picking up eid signal or will I half to cut the eid tag off

Why can't you just link there original tag and cut out your eid tag.

I wouldn't be buying anymore from fullwood. I expect you'll find reusable ones from allflex cheaper.

What does the crystal tag do that the fitted eid tag doesn't?

We use the eid tag on the danish we bought, except for the odd one that didn’t work, then put an allflex or fullwood tag in.

I'm afraid my knowledge of the tags is only via atl. Then if a new tag walks into the parlour you are asked to link.

How do you enter new tags on fullwood.

On Delaval we scan the tag with a hand held reader then type the tag into the parlour software against the cow record.

As long as its a HDX EID tag it does not matter the make of tag for us.

You can't ...........
The reader doesn't know where the tag is. Why not remove ear tag and rely on swallowed tag ??
In reply to other threads -you cannot run 2 tags on one animal.
Systems will read either full duplex (FDX) or half duplex (HDX) Tags. They usually read either not both.
