Thinking of finally getting some electric gates.

Anyone got any advice?

Swinging, sliding, wood, metal?

Rough £ etc

Much appreciated.

If getting a sliding one make sure you cant get your arm through the bars, neighbour has one like that her insurer has made her put wire mesh over it so that a kiddy/ pikey cant get their arm trapped, it looks a bit naff now.

Safety edges should solve that problem. Should be fitted as standard.

The only thing that would change is if it went back behind a fence and putting an arm through the fence could shear it. That would either need a small enough hole that you can't get the arm through, or the fence far enough away from the gate that the arm shouldn't be able to touch the gate.
