Electricity/Lights for sheep shed

Hi
In the process of building a new 120x60 ( 8 x 15” bays) sheep shed. Looking for ideas/help for the electrics/Lighting.
I have mains electricity to shed, looking at LED strip lights 1 per bay at either side of shed (16 total) tri proof 5ft 60w 5000k = £70each is only price Iv got so far. Hoping to have them on several switches so only a couple can be left on at night, with 2 outside lights on either gable end. What’s the best brands out there and where is best to buy? What strength of LED would be required? Who’s best for switches/fuse boxes, cable etc? Is it best to buy all off internet then get an electrician to install? Looking for best quality but don’t want to be paying over the odds for it.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

We have 8 (4 each side) LED strips in a 140 x 80 cattle shed and it's as good as daylight.
Can't recall the output, but I'd say you'll be more than well lit up with that many in your shed.
Assuming you have height I'd try half of you're proposed number

I revamped our shed for lambing last November. 60 x 65 foot building and put in 16 x 4ft 43W 4400lm led battens from screwfix. Originally had 8 old strip lights in. Well impressed with the new ones.
You can never have enough lights at lambing time.
You'll want a camera next.

Agree with NFI re the Screwfix LED's. I've got a similar sized barn to his. It had 2 very old twin 6ft tubes in one half, and two ordinary bulbs in the other half! . I replaced the bulbs with 2 of the Screwfix LAP Twin 5ft LED Batten White 60W 5600lm (7223V) which were £44 for the pair. Excellent lighting.

Screwfix here as well , 60w about £30 each , make sure they are ip66 rated if possible , as humidity will shorten their lives , toolstation pretty much the same.

I used Chinese led lamps, building is 75x45, got 3 in each bay, middle and to each side, they're brilliant, run off my Genny.

50w lamps for about £17 each, I couldn't stretch to the led strip's at the time. Been going 3 years with no bother

Thanks for your opinion, think the LED strips are what most folk are using 👌

Are there LED lights that fit into the old light boxes that would have normally had the old light tubes in ? Ones with 2 pins on each end ?

As Far as I’m aware LED is a concealed unit, with no actual bulbs. So when it’s knackered it’s to fully replace.

You'd still be more units per m² than we are.
You could always get the electrcians to leave a loop in the bays with no lights do that you have enough cable to put a light in between if you need it, but I doubt you will.

We had LED UFO’s fitted last autumn, really effective. The spec was way over the top though. Sparky fitted the 2 pin sockets in each bay but we only fitted lights in every other. It’s so bright that your eyes hurt when they’re switched on!
