Eco save gas and power..can they be trusted?
In my experience, no. Tried a hard sell on me: You need to fix now, if I can get a special deal on the standing charge, will you commit today?

When I said no, they went off in an unprofessional huff and then bamboozled mother into a signing a contract whilst on the phone a few weeks later. I wasn't particularly polite with them...

Missed opt out date by a couple of days, supplier now resisting change, does anyone know what business consumer rights are in this situation?

Just wondering what approach might be best, renewal date is the end of this month, so still over 2 weeks notice, but opt out deadline given was the 8th. Gave notice last night once realised.

TIA

p.s. quoted renewal that i want to switch to is is something like 40p/day and 27.4p for one meter and 28.2p for the other.

Old supplier was £1 and £1.60 a day for 26.4p/unit.

If any of you are interested in cheaper rates for your houses drop me a message. I work for a company that can bundle items such as electric, gas, broadband and phone into one bill and the more you take out the cheaper all of them get. With 3 packages they offer the cheapest energy in the Uk which is a no brainer! They even pay £400 toward ending some of the contracts early!

We did a one year with Love Energy ,after months of phone calls (mainly to us)
Settled for Scottish Power
Day unit rate:

30242 kWh at 29.28p

Night unit rate:

12317 kWh at 22.43p

Standing charge:

155.51p

Term:

1 year
That's a decent rate on a 1 year term. I would always advise on a longer term than 12 months. You could get a very similar rate on a 24 or 36 month.

You would see a lot more benefit on a 36.

Why ? gas prices are a quarter of last years prices , nowt but profiteering imo
Prices for gas and power are as low as they have been in a long while. Securing longer term when the market is flat is always a smart play.

It is more likely there will be an increase next year than further decreases when your 12 month term comes to an end. Forecasting is never an exact science but you look at probability and there's more risk than reward on a short term contract.

1yr 27.92 d 25.02e&w 21.87n 73.66sc
2yr 28.78d 25.75e&w 22.69n 73.66sc
3yr 28.86d 25.76e&w 22.82n 73.66sc

EDF
1yr 27.1d 25.5e&w 22.8n 60sc
2yr 27.5d 25.9e&w 23.2n 60sc
3yr 28.9d 27.3e&w 24.6n 60sc

BG Lite
1yr 30.81d 25.47e&w 22.8n 40sc
2yr 31.66d 25.81e&w 23.05n 42sc
3yr 32.42d 26.04e&w 22.86n 45sc

Leaning towards the 3 year deal with Scottish power ( currently with them) as its £50/year difference from 1-3 and think these will be the new base prices going forward.

Last time i renewed(2 years ago) I went with BG and not BG Lite to avoid smart meter. This time ive just renewed and had to go BG lite due to prices and had a smart meter fitted within first 2 weeks. Early days, not sure if it is working properly or not.
Couldn't do with the hassle of keeping putting them off fitting one.

What's the problem with a smart meter tho ????

11,000kwh usage renewal is looking at S/C £1.66/day and 29.096/unit. (1 year)
I have had a quote from YU energy at S/C £1.29/day 24.51/unit (3 years).
Seems a good quote, anyone used YU energy? never heard of them before, the reviews seem terrible, but so are all the other energy company's it seems!
