Environmental Land Management explored in January Digital Insights webinar

The fifth Digital Insights webinar from Low carbon Agriculture show online will explore the importance of ‘Environmental Land Management’ and what it means for the future of UK farming.

The webinar will outline what’s known about the Environmental Land Management (ELM) scheme so far, with an update on policy, followed by an outline of key environmental approaches and guidance on assessing sustainability.

Taking place on Wednesday 27th January at 18:00, speakers for the January Digital Insights session include:

  • Phil Jarvis, chairman, NFU Environment Forum, who will update on the Environmental Land Management (ELM) scheme and what we know so far;
  • Karen Fisher, farming advisor at the Soil Association, who will outline the key principles and approaches of agroecology;
  • Adele Jones, head of programmes, from the Sustainable Food Trust, who will present on measuring food system sustainability.

The previous Digital Insights webinars from Low Carbon Agriculture Show have seen just under 600 registrations for the ‘Reaching Net Zero in Agriculture’ session, the ‘Opportunities for Renewable Energy on Farms’ webinar, the ‘Innovations in Agri-Tech’ webinar and most recently the Low Carbon Transport and Machinery session, all which can be watched on demand.

Digital Insights are hosted by Low Carbon Agriculture Show online, taking place on 9 and 10 March 2021.

The digital show is free to attend and features the Energy Now Expo, in which an exhibition will be accompanied by an energy storage theatre and a cutting-edge conference programme, covering all forms of renewables. The Low Emission Vehicles Expo will showcase the latest low-carbon transport and machinery solutions, and highlight the related opportunities. The Environmental Business Expo will include an exhibition and conference sessions offering practical guidance to farmers on carbon and Environmental Land Management (ELM). Suppliers of innovative agri-tech will take part in the exhibition and workshop area within the Farm Technology Expo.

The remaining monthly Digital Insights sessions will run on the following dates, on the lead up to the show:

  • January 27, 2021 – Environmental Land Management
  • February 24, 2021 – Show Preview
