From a contractors point cross drilling takes too long unless the farmer is willing to pay 90 an acre which is getting expensive, also now the trials are Don that there is no decrease in yeild whether rows or broadcast ,and also trials done in Moore park say that the cows intake is better when grass is in rows something to do with the tongue action
90 per acre versus 50 for single pass£90 per hectare I assume?
I agree it makes the job too expensive for most to consider, but I wouldn’t like to do it once, whether 24 row or 32 rows in 3m. I’m more concerned about the space left for weed ingress, rather than yield increases.

That's the standard price they all charge ,James would know more ,its50 euro incl vat at 13.5Crikey! That’s around double what anyone over here charges.
I’m €60 per acre or if it’s over 15 acres I’ll do it for €50.That's the standard price they all charge ,James would know more ,its50 euro incl vat at 13.5
The rows fill in the first year.I was led to believe that grass in rows as you say had no detriment to yield when cutting but when grazing a broadcasting gave a denser sward and so increased yields marginally.
Thats the field this morning drilled just over a-Month backThe rows fill in the first year.
Aye often with weed grass, why take the risk? The rows fill in the first year.
Time I emigrated, should be used to the rainCrikey! That’s around double what anyone over here charges.
Same around here, plenty tbhIts from £25 to £27 acre in this area and plenty to do it at that
That looks well ,a good hit is all your stiched gras as good as that grass that's sowed with a one pass grain drill stays in rows for a few years and I don't see any weeds and as regards yeild new grass in rows or not still bulks a lot better than what it replaced, the reason I was thinking of the 32 row is that it would look better because the mindset of the farmers around here is that rows mean less yeild ,if there was such a difference in yeild then every farmer would sow their corn by broadcasting ,do most of your customers go 15 kgsThats the field this morning drilled just over a-Month back

The one acre bags are sold here with only 11 kg in them , not enough .14kg to 15kg yes
I go even more on my own farm . Done some at 18kg a Month back
thats an overseeding acre not a complete reseedThe one acre bags are sold here with only 11 kg in them , not enough .
It’s very good , no trash to be seen , was it mowed clean or grazed.Thats the field this morning drilled just over a-Month back
Mowed regrowth sprayed then grazedIt’s very good , no trash to be seen , was it mowed clean or grazed.
No problems with penetration with 24 row even in dry going, now have 800kg of weights on 32row plus weight of drill plus seed so now need a ton on the front to keep her down on banks. Both erth and Moore do 24 and 32 row 3metre drills is there any advantage of 32 over 24
