I was surprised by Obama's coments especilly the back of the que for trade deals remark , quite how much Cameron has put him up to it i'm not sure , Cameron will be using every thing he can to get what looks like a close run thing to come out in favor of EU.Unlike some Visitors in the last few days, and so much for the "special Relationship" between the USA & UK .
Personally in terms of the country not just my own interest. The better short term decision is almost certinley to stay in the EU less risk, less unknown and in gereral a safer bet
However the better long term decision is almost certinley to leave the EU .it will not be easy to deal with eu if vote is to stay and , if turkey joins it will be impossible to get agreement on anything , Northern and Southern europe residents are just not of the same mind set in all honesty there should be a nothern and southers EU , but add in a bit of Asia and it will kick off big time in another 5 to 10 years .
if we leave , i think some other countries will be looking to do the same or at least there public will be so it could start to fall apart anyway.
If we leave There will be at least 5 to 10 years of slow growth and econmic unsertinty, trade deals take years to get agreement on , we will not burn any red tape at all ,we will still need all the eu nationals who work here so the net benifit is really on self rule.
It could go either way as could my vote i generally tend to favour the longer term in anything so i am 51% in favour of leaving currently on the basis that after 10 years it will be better but years 1 to 9 could be tricky
