Thank you exfarmer for that info!!Certainly remember Ennals and Castell first big deal deal bought 3 DB 990's from them.
Never knew they sold Masseys though, but would have been before my time.
They were also the Nuffield / Leyland dealer for Northants
No it was originally a 780 bagger but converted many moons ago!!Are you sure that the 1953 combine is 780 would have thought it more likely earlier 726 ?
I am no expert!!
Marshall self propelled. And a real nice bloke that owns it.Happened to spot this one as I was getting the pics of the 726 above...looks a tad tidier than when I first saw it 18 months ago....still got a long way to go before start up...
Anybody any ideas what it is??....

There is one more. Resides in North Lincs, but needs a lot of work.Wow fair play to that man, I don't think I've ever seen one!!He will be on his own with that one for sure! What a good job we have people like this, be nice to see some more of this!!
Hi Blackbob, the 1953 780 has a l4 the original engine 6 cylinder probably replaced many many years ago,to be honest when this combine arrived here several years ago it was a basket case most of the tin work was beyond repair, it had stood out under a hedge for many years,Howard who bought it and brought it home, was determined to get it up and running and many hours have been spent just getting it into this condition, unfortunately when he had the combine delivered the haulage company in the south west who have a collection of various vintage equipment, decided to Rob various parts off machine including some seat parts !! Bless em,well there's always another day I say!, It is hoped to get the sieves rebuilt this winter, and start putting paint on, and hope to use it next year, assuming we have something to cut!!But that's another story all together mate.Didn't the 726 have the engine on top, alongside the driver?
Great photos @jakeboy , is that a 6 cylinder tvo?
