I asked limejump for a forward price (I'm fixed price till March 22) on Friday but they said their computers were broken. Then again yesterday, still nothing. Not really cricket me thinks.

Quick Market Update:

Sorry to be the barer of bad news this time;

Prices fell dramatically Wednesday night / Thursday morning this week, despite UK emission trading system (ETS) allowances trading well above those in the EU ETS in the first day of trading, as NBP gas prices also crashed.

The New UK Emission Trading System was expected to be similar to European prices but came in a lot lower so people had been overpricing the carbon impact causing prices to fall for both gas and power.

We did experience somewhat of a bounce-back around midday yesterday, however it may be the end of the £90/MWh+ offerings for the time being.

We’ve just secured a deal with Olympus Power to manage all of their export negotiations for their existing solar portfolio, as well as their £75m of upcoming fully-funded solar projects, funded by Thrive Renewables.

This not only gives us a lot of weight in the market over this summer whilst negotiating this portfolio alongside our own customer base, but also allows us to explore unorthodox procurement techniques for those customers who are interested, for example regional basket trading, bringing suppliers that are only interested in large quantities of energy to the table for a group of supplies for negotiating purposes, whilst still maintaining completely separate, individual PPA’s.

If anybody is interested in us completing a full market tender for their individual export PPA, or interested in taking a slightly different approach, please don’t hesitate to contact me and we’ll be happy to help; [email protected]
