I have got a new startup interested in buying some cows and heifers in Northern Ireland. Would there be any problem or extra licences to obtain before I could do the deal?

I know whenever men buy pedigree bulls at the sale in Scotland they have to be quarantined in Scotland for 30 days before travelling here. You have tb situation to sort out too. When I buy in RoI they have to be pre tested and inspected before travelling..even though they may be travelling only 60 miles.
I’d leave it up to the buyer to sort out.

We have exported there before.
A sheep lorry goes from mid Devon to long town every Wednesday, if you give them notice they will fit you on. There are some pedigree breeders nearby who will collect them and take them to the ferry at Stranraer. They will also organise the paperwork. The animals have to go within 30 days of the premovement test.
We maybe sending 30 animals over in the next 6 weeks. PM me if you want a chat etc

You will need your vet to do a licence for you so talk to them about the details. If you need transport talk to Bradley Moffet 07999 517891 as his wagon is travelling over their most weeks empty so will fit you in and also he can tell you what licences you will need if you are still unsure.

Make sure the moneys in your bank before loading them and buyer knows there's absolutely no return of funds. Been bitten selling cattle privately and wouldn't do it again. Some people will argue and quibble over anything and everything once the animal is in their yard and it's a long road to bring them back.

Absolutely. As you would with any sale to a buyer unknown to yourself. Nothing to do with them coming to Northern Ireland i'd like to clarify! There'll be some weak buyers of course, but also some of the strongest in the UK, who'd sell the shirt off their back before they'd have unpaid debts lying around.
