Fit wheels, engine, and steering to an IBC?205l plastic drum cut in half lengthwise??
Never fixed one above the knee/hock joints. Have done loads below that, very easy too set and splint.Genuine question?
I've got a lamb with a broken front leg. Just above the knee joint. Clean break. About a week old. Nice lamb. I kept two doubles in over the old snap last week. Put them in the same pen 12 foot square thinking they'll be fine. Walked in and found him stretched out thinking wtf. He's got a splint with vet wrap atm but I don't fancy his chances.
I had a pet lamb once with it below the knee and surprisingly fixed it.
Just wondering what you guys do in this situation?
Thanks.
Plaster of Paris wrap, cloth bandage firstGenuine question?

Cloth on first then a small splint then big bale tape wrapped round, that will be adequate, they usually mend well on a young lamb.Genuine question?

Ideally a two person job. Give anti-inflamatory. When it knits, there'll be a callus, and could be a slightly shorter leg. It's not as difficult as a break above the elbow, but keep an eye out for him in case of rubs or wounds.Genuine question?

Nothing heals better than a young lambs leg, they would almost heal just left.Roll of cotton wool and bandage is bloody cheap. Buy the stuff and do it right. Found this one broken just above the ankle a week past on Saturday. Had it changed twice since and it's fusing nicely

Just make sure and don't put it on too tight or you'll cut off the circulation!

Something new every year. Had a triplet lamb overnight 2 weeks ago in the shed. Penned her up but still no milk by day 2 even though in good condition. Most hated sheep ( until the next one). Fostered 2 lambs the other is a pet. Put her out with the red mark of death.
Today went to check them and she is standing with 3 new lambs just born . So the red mark sprayed blue now and she is my favourite sheep. Until she probably lies on one tonight.
Of course, there is a triplet ewe running in the shed which had 3 lambs 2 weeks ago then hid away. Red spray coming her way now.
This year was a first. We actually started with live lambs! It is most unnerving! This thread reminds me of a friend of mine, asked him when he was starting lambing and he said must be quite soon, they have started to die.
Had one like that last year, I felt like shooting her she was such a bloody nuisance... Brought her in the shed in the end for a few days until she lambed...I have a ewe running in the twins with big red P.B. on her side...
P.B. stands for Pinching Ba5tard!!
She tried stealing off of 3 or 4 ewes before she finally lambed herself and settled down
They can cause a lot of mis-mothering cant they.Had one like that last year, I felt like shooting her she was such a bloody nuisance... Brought her in the shed in the end for a few days until she lambed...
You only have one like that! I can tell your not running mules because I might have a couple of those a day.I have a ewe running in the twins with big red P.B. on her side...

Pressure on the hearth probably caused it.I had one with a uterine prolapse this morning, 3 days after she lambed, with the whole lot inside out.
Got her back to the yard, dangled from the pallet forks so gravity would help, and quietly slipped the whole lot back in and inverted nicely. Very pleased with myself, I stitched her up while she was hanging quietly, gave her a shot of Metacam and another of antibiotic, and gently lowered her to the ground.
As soon as she laid down, she took a sudden gasp and keeled over dead. Feckin’ sheep.
